With this luxury Helicopter Tour you have the possibility to admire the most famous places of the Gulf of Naples.
Your private English-speaking driver (with his Mercedes car) will wait for you directly at the port of Sorrento (either Naples or Salerno) by your cruise ship, or by your hotel, for the transfer to heliport of Sorrento (or Naples). This is the starting point of your adventure, a fascinating flight over Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast, the ruins of Pompeii, Mount Vesuvius and the island of Capri.
As soon as you land on Capri heliport, you’ll find a private convertible taxi and your private English-speaking guide waiting for you. Transfer to the port of Capri where a typical small boat (shared with others) will take you to the Blue Grotto. The Blue Grotto is one of the highlights of the island. It is a cavity within which it is possible to admire extraordinary light effects due to the refraction of light coming from the outside only through an underwater opening. The Blue Grotto was much loved by the emperor Tiberius for its size and for the sense of loneliness that it gave him. Many believed that the emperor ordered his slaves to dig a tunnel to act as a direct link between the grotto and the his villa located on the hill, but actually the Romans on the order of Tiberius were digging tunnels looking for drinking water. Attracted by the mystery, by the lights and colours, Tiberius spent whole days in the Blue Grotto. However, the majesty of the cave frightened the emperor so much that he avoided to go alone inside the grotto.
From the port of Capri a private convertible taxi will take you up to Anacapri for visiting that village: free time for exploring the area by yourself and for the lunch.
Next stop will be in the centre of Capri with its famous Piazzetta, whose official name is Piazza Umberto I. It is the heart of the island and it is a must to sit there and to sip a coffee at the tables of one of the many bars, surrounded by international celebrities and by a breathtaking scenery. In addition to the bars there are, overlooking the Piazzetta and the town hall with the barrel of a column and a fragment of a circular base, remains found in the twenties and probably belonging to the Augustus Villa of Palazzo a Mare.
Afterwards, your guide will show you the nearby Garden of Augustus, a green park filled with many species of flowers and trees and it is a real green lung located at short distance from the very centre of Capri. It is a great place to admire one of the most beautiful panoramas of the coast of Capri with the rocky coves and cliffs from which rise the silhouettes of the Faraglioni Rocks. This park was once owned by the German industrialist Krupp, who settled in Capri in the late XIX century. Krupp donated the gardens to the town of Capri that entitled it to the Roman emperor Augustus.
This great day will finish with the return to the port of Sorrento (or Naples) by hydrofoil (or jetfoil).
