Speaking of Capri is difficult: its harbors , the rocks , the caves are so celebrated , the ruins of Roman villas well known , that we can not add anything new. Therefore we leave everything to the free initiative of the visitor to discover the great beauty of this island. For You, we have arranged a great private guided tour to Capri with the visit of the Blue Grotto (included), a large karst cave invaded by the sea, which is one of the major attractions of the island.
You’ll meet Your English-speaking guide (only for Your party) at the port of Sorrento (Naples). By hydrofoil (or ferry) You’ll reach Capri (the journey lasts from 20 to 50 minutes depending on the boat used and the departure point).
Starting from Marina Grande, You’ll reach by sea the Blue Grotto, known worldwide for its turquoise blue colour inside the cave, whose access is possible only by small rowboats. Being illuminated by the sun through the water refraction , the light acquires magical effects to every ripple of the sea surface. Known by the Romans, then forgotten, the Blue Grotto returned the focus of the visitors's interest at the beginning of the nineteenth century. This magic cave is well worth a visit despite the masses with whom You’ll inevitably be sharing the experience.
Once back to port, You'll take the typical cable car to get to Capri town, the main municipality of the island. You’ll visit with Your guide the centre of the island and the Gardens of Augustus, a panoramic series of terraced gardens. These now form a municipal park, but were once part of the Capri estate of German arms manufacturer Alfred Krupp.
The, You'll have free time for a snack and to explore the town.
By the Funicolare (cable car) You’ll return to the port and back to Sorrento (or Naples) by hydrofoil (or ferry).
